Lacey's First Boat Ride!

We got some pretty good pictures documenting Lacey's first boat ride so thought I would share....

Not too sure what to think of this....

Then she decided she was good with it. :)

She really wasn't sure what to think when Bud jumped in though.

Eventually both Bud and I were in the water and Lacey was lounging in the sun...I think she enjoyed herself. :)

Update

Sorry it's been so long since I updated--I've been a working a ton and trying to get my house back under control now that I have more energy. :)

I went home for a long weekend 2 weeks ago for my sister's bridal shower. It was a great weekend at home, and so fun to watch my sister taking her turn at all the wedding stuff. I am so excited for her!

We took a picture at her shower....

We of course had to include baby in the photo. I feel like we look A LOT alike in this picture, which doesn't happen often.

And, I tried on my dress for the wedding, which thank goodness still fit with room to grow. That was a huge relief... (I am 17 weeks in this photo.)

It was fun to be gone, but I was ready to be home. I had slight anxiety about leaving Lacey (which I understand is ridiculous, no need to tell me)...she and I had never been apart for more than 12 hours and even though she loves Bud, I still worried. Ask my parents--my favorite part of coming home from vacation was always seeing my dog, so I guess some things never change. :) She returned the excitement to see me, which made me very happy!

The next weekend was our anniversary weekend, I was 18 weeks along in this photo.

Our friends, the Roy's, are borrowing a boat from his parents for the summer and keeping it in our driveway since they live in an apartment complex. As a thank you to us, they have been generous enough to let us take the boat out anytime we want. We took the boat our on our anniversary, and I have to say, I don't know that many other anniversaries will match this one. We were on the boat for a while when Bud spotted some dolphins....so we waiting patiently and eventually there was a pack of about 10 dolphins swimming around us. It was SO cool. We were just amazed at how curious they were; they would swim under the boat and come up right at the front of the boat and jump. I have some videos that I am trying to cut to get the highlights on here, so stay tuned. But, here is a photo of 2 of them... (Click on the picture to make it bigger, and they are to the left of the boat.)

And here is my 19 week belly on the boat this weekend...I believe I have "popped"!

We aren't sure of our plans for the long weekend, Bud is just thrilled at the idea of having a day off! He has been working so hard, I am so proud of him. This school is not easy in any way shape or form, but he is enjoying it and kickin some butt...his average is over 95.

AND....Tuesday we get to see if I get to buy pink or blue!! We are both very, very excited.

In case I don't post again this week, hope everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend!

From Prom to Parenthood...

5 years ago this past weekend Bud and I were attending our Senior Prom...

I love how young Bud looks. :) (I like to think I don't look any different, but my 15 extra pounds prove me wrong.) We had no idea where life was going to lead at that point, we just really hoped that somehow it would end up with us together.

We celebrated our second wedding anniversary on Sunday and are loving the path our life is leading so far. We are so excited about becoming parents and continuing the adventure that is military life.

So, now time for opinions....what do you think this baby is? Leave a comment for us so we know what you think!

Boy or Girl? Frills or Spills? Let the guesses begin!

Bud: boy

Emily: girl

16 weeks!

I realized I didn't post my belly pictures like I said I would, so here they are. :)

15 weeks

16 weeks

I have a baby appt tomorrow and am hoping to make my "big" ultrasound appt then! I can't believe I am already 4 months into this pregnancy, it is going by very quickly.

One last picture to share just because it's precious. This is what I came to bed to one night last week....

She really loves him. One of these days I will have to record her reaction when she hears his motorcycle coming down the road, she acts as if he has been gone for months, it is so sweet. We are both so thankful we came across Lacey--we don't know what we would do with out her!

PS--I finally figured out what to do to be able to enlarge the pictures once they are posted. So, if you click on the pictures in this post and all new ones from now on, you will be able to enlarge them! :)

Thanks, Tim!

Almost a year ago, my father in law made Bud and I two shadow boxes for the flags that Bud flew in Iraq for us. He was able to fly them over the base for a day while deployed. We decided to try and make it a tradition, so we have something from each deployment to display. The shadow boxes are ridiculously priced at craft stores, so I knew just the person to ask to make them for us. :)

Even though I have had them for a year, I just got around to putting one together tonight. We can't rush these things. I finally decided today was the day and had Bud choose the 4 coins he wanted in with the flag and certificate and put it together while dinner was in the oven.

I am so excited to finally have this put together and be able to hang it up. Now the question is where...it took me 2 months to hang anything in this house, so don't hold your breath that it will be up anytime soon. Bud hasn't decided exactly what he wants to put in with the other flag, so we will only have the one hanging in the house for now.

This flag was from his deployment in 2007...those of you who know me well should be impressed that I knew exactly where this all was considering the amount of moves it has been through since then!

Wishful thinking...

This morning at the gym, one of the new moms told me about an ultrasound clinic over in Fort Walton Beach that does gender determinations for only $50. I called Bud on my way home to tell him all about it. We are not sure that Bud will be able to go to the "big" ultrasound with me on base, since his schedule is anything but flexible.

So I called the lady thinking maybe, just maybe, she would have an opening today or something this week so we could go find out.

Yea, right. She has no Saturday appts left for the month of May and couldn't even get us in for 2 weeks. Needless to say, I am pretty bummed. I had no idea she would be that booked. Oh well....

I have an appt in the OB office on Tuesday and I am hoping I will get to schedule my ultrasound then.

I haven't uploaded new pictures since my last post, hoping to do that tomorrow so check back for my 16 week belly. :)
